#4: Life in a box

The Word for Today
Some of us live in a box, for some, it’s made of brick, concrete, mud or straw and others sadly cardboard. When we feel our life is lived in a box it becomes our container. Spiritually speaking it is not physically possible to contain life, but we perceive we are in none the less. Where ever we live is the place in which we store our values, our identity and retain our worldly sense of who we are. There is no physical safety deposit box for our emotions. Our emotional response to life can be like a fire; devastating. Some people prefer objects more than emotions, wealth in life as possessions can drown us. To be wealthy in this way, in Spiritual Truth, reveals real wealth.  There is no box, we are free to be truly wealthy in such a life.

Spirit reveals what the world cannot and when it does we start to care less about the physical and emotional sense of self. We care less for our safety deposit boxes or our life containers for things as we become confident in knowing God is within us; always. Jesus spoke of an invisible World, a kingdom God where our home should be built. Our mind becomes a temple through Spiritual learning and the treasure we build up there will last and not fade or be eaten by moths. Eternity flows through us as God is in us and Christ’s good news is the pearl of great price that the world does not value. We cannot ever take from God, we can only learn to give from God.

Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.  The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field.  When a man found it, he hid it again, and in his joy he went and sold all he had and bought that field

(Matthew 13:43-44)

Let us not take value from the World but think of our body as a box without a lid. We don’t want to prevent God’s treasure being put into our life. Be careful not to limit life by the size of our container, so let our boxes be bottomless. Have no limit on what we can receive from God. enabling us to give all those that ask. Let us bless and enrich other people in our lives with that pearl of great price. Let us keep nothing but an open mind where light shines in the middle of our home that all may see and marvel at the glory of God.
